This initiative is part of the Ministry's comprehensive strategy, which includes the 'National In-Country Value (ICV) Programme' and the 'Make it in the Emirates' campaign. Accompanying the delegation was His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology.
During the meeting at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, His Highness the President was briefed on the Ministry's collaborative efforts to equip and empower Emiratis for roles in the industrial sector through the Industrialists Programme. This programme is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis), and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
His Highness underscored the importance of bolstering the industrial sector with skilled Emirati talent, emphasizing its role as a cornerstone of the UAE’s economy.
“Our youth are the architects of our future, and we are dedicated to equipping and empowering them for this significant responsibility. They are the driving force behind our nation’s development and progress,” His Highness stated.
He added, “I encourage you to seize opportunities within the industrial sector, a critical and promising field for our future. Engage in all facets of national development, as your capabilities and dedication have proven our trust in you. I wish you success in achieving your aspirations and contributing to your country and community.”
His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber shared an update on the Industrialists Programme, which, by mid-2023, had created over 1,400 specialized jobs, with a target of reaching 2,000 by the end of 2024.
He highlighted the programme’s strategic aim to expand employment opportunities for Emiratis in the private sector, supported by initiatives like the National ICV Programme, the Make it in the Emirates campaign, and the Industrialists Programme. Thanks to these efforts, Emirati employment in the private industrial sector tripled in 2023 compared to 2021. His Excellency also noted that over 500,000 job opportunities are available in the private industrial sector, providing significant potential for Emirati talent.
“Our priority is to develop Emirati talent through specialized training, enabling them to secure sustainable roles in the industrial sector,” said His Excellency Dr. Al Jaber. “Additionally, we facilitate connections between factories and skilled Emiratis through the Industrialists Programme exhibition.”
To date, the programme has introduced specialized training initiatives in key manufacturing areas, such as oil and gas, safety and security, food and beverages, and iron and paper industries.
